Groundbreaking Collaboration Between GreenSpur Wind Limited and Teesside University

Time To ACT plc is proud to announce a transformative partnership between its subsidiary, GreenSpur Wind Limited (GSW), and Teesside University. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing offshore wind technology and underscores Time To ACT’s commitment to driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions.

At the forefront of this collaboration is GreenSpur Wind Limited’s pioneering development of a Rare Earth-free Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) for wind turbines. Traditional wind turbine generators face challenges associated with Rare Earth magnets, including supply chain vulnerabilities and environmental concerns. GSW’s innovative solution aims to address these issues by leveraging cutting-edge materials and design principles.

Teesside University, renowned for its expertise in thermal management and analysis, joins forces with GreenSpur Wind Limited to accelerate the evaluation of the PMG’s thermal performance. Led by Professor Kumar Patchigolla, Teesside University’s team, alongside Dr. Imran Bashir and a group of dedicated associates, will conduct comprehensive research to optimise the PMG’s efficiency and mitigate thermal risks.

The collaborative effort between GreenSpur Wind Limited, Teesside University, and Time To ACT exemplifies the synergy between academia and industry in driving technological innovation. By leveraging academic research and industry expertise, the partnership aims to accelerate the development and commercialisation of sustainable energy solutions.

“Time To ACT’s facilitation of this partnership underscores our commitment to fostering innovation in the renewable energy sector. Together with Teesside University, we are poised to make significant advancements in offshore wind technology,” said Chief Operating Officer Jason Moody of Time To ACT plc.

Professor Kumar Patchigolla of Teesside University highlighted the importance of collaborative partnerships in addressing global sustainability challenges. “By combining academic research with industry insights, we have the opportunity to create meaningful impact in the transition to renewable energy,” said Professor Patchigolla.

Time To ACT plc, through its subsidiaries like GreenSpur Wind Limited, remains dedicated to driving positive change in the renewable energy landscape. The collaboration with Teesside University signifies a step forward in advancing sustainable energy solutions and achieving a greener future for generations to come.
