GreenSpur Wins Design Contract with XFlow Energy

We are pleased to announce that GreenSpur has secured a design contract with XFlow Energy Co. to develop an optimised wind turbine generator. This is an exciting opportunity for us to collaborate with XFlow, a leader in vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) technology.

Based in Seattle, XFlow Energy specialises in designing innovative VAWTs, including its flagship 25-kilowatt turbine, which aims to lower the cost of wind energy generation while maintaining both efficiency and structural integrity. Our task will be to harness our rare-earth-free generator technology to create a solution tailored to the low-level turbulent wind conditions experienced by VAWTs.

This design contract marks a significant step forward for GreenSpur, and upon its completion, we expect to move towards a prototype and manufacturing agreement with XFlow. This would advance our technology readiness level (TRL) to TRL8/9, indicating that our technology is fully developed and proven in operational environments.

Jason Moody, GreenSpur’s Chairman, commented: “Securing this contract with XFlow is a key achievement for us. It not only validates the progress we’ve made with our rare-earth-free generator technology but also positions us to tackle the challenges of wind energy more effectively. We see this as a great opportunity to push our capabilities further.”

This it is a crucial milestone in our journey to further establish GreenSpur’s relevance in the renewable energy sector. It also opens up potential avenues for us to enter the floating VAWT market.

We look forward to the continued development of this project and are excited about what the future holds for GreenSpur and XFlow.
